Blunt Park to get playground upgrade: new equipment, softer surface coming
New playground equipment is on its way for Blunt Park, in the 2300 block of Vermijo Avenue.
Colorado Springs Parks crews have cleared the old equipment away, with the new units expected to be installed around mid-November, according to City Parks Development Manager Chris Lieber. Included will be a climbing structure with a slide, swings (including tot swings), and a small climbing boulder, he said.
Safety features will be an “important aspect” of the upgraded playground, he added. The sand will be replaced with a wood chip mulch product to soften falls, Lieber explained.
