Meet a Westsider:
Bobbie Higley

Profession/Occupation... I am the owner of KR Pet-N-Feed Supply. I also groom birds and raise African Grey parrots.

What I like most about the Westside is... the friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... to improve some of the older areas around here that are going downhill.

A good movie Iíve seen recently is... ďThe Lake House,Ē because Iím a sentimental sort of person. Itís a love story across time, a good ďchickĒ flick.

The worst advice Iíve ever gotten was... ďStop being so generous.Ē Itís a good thing to be generous but not to a fault and Iím not sure if I fit in that ďto a faultĒ category or not.

If I could meet someone famous, Iíd like to meet... Clark Gable, because he was a suave and debonair man of his time.

The next time I travel, Iím going to... Austria. What Iíve seen of itís been through books, the National Geographic magazine and school. I think itís a beautiful country and I have an intense desire to go there.

My favorite childhood memory is... Watching the movie, ďRose-Marie,Ē a story about a Canadian Mountie and opera singer. It was the first movie that I remember as a young child. The wolves in it and the song, ďIndian Love CallĒ (a duet by Nelson Eddy and Jeannette MacDonald), left a strong impression on me.

My favorite fall pastime is... watching the colors change and the busy year come to a slow. Itís my favorite time of the year.

Something good Iíve read is.. all of Stephen Kingís books. I have all of his books and had a chance to meet him in Palmer Lake when he was out here promoting one of his books.

My pet peeve is... people who think they can get away with everything.

If I won the lottery, Iíd... pay off my business and give to a worthy charity.

Meet a WestsiderĒ is a regular feature in the Westside Pioneer. If you would like to be a Meet-a-Westsider (or know someone who should be), please give us a call at 471-6776.
