Local cookie store relocates to Uintah

Ruth's Cookies sells homemade cookies in a number of flavors, shapes and sizes at 1939 W. Uintah St. (in the West Side Shopping Plaza). Other offerings by owners Don and Irma Allen include cookie dough, juices, diabetic cookies and custom orders.
Relocated to the Westside in August, the business was started by the original “Ruth” (Ruth Mehsling) in 1998, with the Allens buying it from her in 2001.
The location was in a shopping center off Powers Boulevard. Don Allen said he and his wife decided to move the shop to the Westside to be closer to their central- area home.
Ruth's is open Monday to Saturday. The phone is 591-8505. The website is ruthscookies.com.
