Meet a Westsider:
Doris Collison

Profession/Occupation... My husband and I are both retired and moved from Montana to The Village at Skyline four years ago. I was an elementary teacher and aide in Lutheran Schools in California and Montana. At the Village, I sing in the Village Voices group and serve as a section leader for our Resident Council. I also volunteer in Angel Chavez's first grade at West Elementary on Tuesday mornings.

What I like most about the Westside is... the small town feeling, like the Coronado High School Parade and the several restaurants where we feel so at home.

If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... to make 21st Street two lanes each way from Lower Gold Camp to Uintah.

A good movie Iíve seen recently is... "The Blind Side," about a football player. Our grandson is the kicker for Pine Creek High's football team and I love watching their games.

I'd like to discover... a cure for diabetes.

If I could meet someone famous, Iíd like to meet... President Ronald Reagan. I think he was one of our best presidents.

The next time I travel, Iím going... I would like to go to Switzerland, although I think our Colorado mountains are beautiful also.

My favorite childhood memory is... seeing the lighted Christmas tree on Christmas morning for the first time with my nine siblings.

My favorite fall pastime is... watching all the trees at Skyline Village turn so many beautiful colors.

Something good Iíve read is... "Every Other Monday," by John Kasich. It is about a group of men who met every other Monday in Columbus, Ohio, for Bible study.

My pet peeve is... people who leave their shopping carts in the middle of the parking lot.

If I didnít have to work for a year, I would... visit our 5 children and 17 grandchildren in California, Oregon, Colorado, Nebraska and Oklahoma. We are truly blessed!
