What do you do?
Tom Ware

Where do you work and what is your title?
I am a retail sales associate at Ascent Mobile.
What do you do there and/or what are you responsible for?
I sell phone services and take care of customer service issues and inventory.
How long have you been doing this kind of work (total)? How long on the Westside?
Three years total. Two with Verizon and about 5 months on the Westside with Ascent. Before that, I was market manager for Mobile Solution in Southern Colorado.
What do you like best about it (other than quitting time)?
Itís always a challenge. When someone comes in, itís always something different. Thatís why Iíve stayed in sales for so long. There are always different issues with phones/services or plans. I like to work with clients and their budgets. I also get to help train new associates, which is fun because I can teach them the little things to say to help close a sale and how to relate to a customer on a personal level in order to find what they want and help them get it.
If you could change one thing (other than pay), what would it be?
Traffic...and maybe get our heater fixed.
What part of your work did your training/education never prepare you for?
I just got thrown into sales and I learned a lot of it on my own. I also took helpful hints and suggestions from other people and then developed my own style.
What makes working on the Westside special?
#1 is the view. Our store faces Pikes Peak and parts of Garden of the Gods, and from the back I can see Palmer Park and the city. And, the people here are friendlier and more relaxed.
