Angler’s Covey to move into trailer until new store is ready
A 12-by-60-foot trailer will house the Angler's Covey business for the next several months.
The store at 917 W. Colorado Ave. will temporarily close Tuesday, Sept. 28, after 18 years at that address, Angler's Covey principal owner Dave Leinweber told the Westside Pioneer.
The trailer will reopen for business Saturday, Oct. 2 in a temporary location at Perkins Motor Company, 2025 Sheldon Ave. Perkins owner Tom Perkins is Leinweber's partner in the new store. The business is off 21st Street, not far north of Fountain Creek - almost a stone's throw from the planned, new store location at the northeast corner of Highway 24 and 21st Street.
“We'll be there a couple of months until our parking lot, electrical and phone lines are installed at the new site,” Leinweber said. “When we can get those done, we will move our trailer onto the property. We're hoping for late November.”
According to his plans, the trailer will remain on the site while construction continues on the new building. A March opening of the 5,000-square-foot store is foreseen.
