Rotarians make exchange students feel less foreign
The Garden of the Gods Rotary gave lunch to more than 100 exchange students from 30 foreign countries Sept. 18 at the Clarion Hotel. The students, hosted by local families, attend 21 Pikes Peak area high schools. The annual event by the club provides “an opportunity for them to network with other foreign exchange students from area schools,” said past president Carla Vauthrin. Above, Rotarian Rick Yates (with microphone) is shown in the midst of his table-to-table, individual introductions. Five Coronado exchange students were on the invitee list (Bruno Knychalla, Franziska Anzinger and Simon Plass of Germany; Istvan Varga of Hungary; and Ly Pham of Vietnam).
