3rd year for Great Parks Festival at Bear Creek Park

The third annual Great Parks Festival will be back at Bear Creek Regional Park Sunday, Sept. 29.
Organized by El Paso County Parks and the Trails and Open Space Coalition, the free event will be from noon to 3 p.m. in the area of the park west of 21st Street around Argus Boulevard.
Ongoing activities will include nature crafts, a petting zoo, soccer clinic, ar-chery, fly casting, geocaching, tennis, volleyball, equestrian skills, a kite demonstration, hay rides, disc golf, yoga and slack lines (similar to tightrope walking but less demanding), according to advance information.
“There are no significant changes in the festival this year,” said Susan Davies, executive director of the Trails Coalition. “It will be free and family-friendly. We're just trying to get people outdoors to try something new and have fun in their parks.”
