Westside politickin': Merrifield, Lambert on the stump

       District 18 State Rep. Michael Merrifield participated in the Memory Walk to benefit the Alzheimer's Association Sept. 11 at Antlers Park. “Alzheimer's has not only touched my family but also continues to devastate the lives of many of our elderly,” he said.
       On Sept. 12, the Democrat incumbent hosted a neighborhood walk in the Ivywild area.
      
       Kent Lambert, a Republican who hopes to unseat Merrifield, joined the Armed Forces Voter Week Tour Sept. 10 in Pioneer Square Park. The event encouraged overseas citizens to register to vote or request an absentee ballot under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA).
       Upcoming events include a neighborhood walk in Old Colorado City Sept. 18, a rally at Bancroft Park Sept. 26 from 1 to 2 p.m. and a fund raiser at Simpich Character Doll Shop Sept. 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. Call 685-9397 to RSVP.
       Lambert also announced the endorsement of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).
