Library to have meeting Sept. 22 on literacy, ESL

People seeking help with literacy or with learning English as a second language (ESL) are invited to the Old Colorado City Branch Library Monday, Sept. 22.
Starting at 7:30 p.m., the meeting will explain the Pikes Peak Library District's LitSource program, which offers free adult tutoring in literacy or ESL. The presentor will be Cheryl Wyeth, LitSource coordinator for the district.
According to Old Colorado City Library Manager Jocelyne Bodden, the meeting is an attempt to see how much local interest there might be in such assistance.
The Old Colorado City branch has not previously offered classes through the LitSource program. Based on book checkouts, “we haven't had a real strong response to our separated Spanish collection,” Bodden said.
