Fall-themed 'Aspens on the Avenue' art promotion in Old Colorado City Sept. 22

       In its second year, Aspens on the Avenue, a promotion by the Old Colorado City Associates (OCCA) business group, is slated to have twice as many retail participants as in 2017.
       Scheduled Saturday, Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the event will feature artist demonstrations (outside, if the weather cooperates) and “hundreds of fall-themed

artworks created for this one-day event,” a press release states.
       Sixteen shops/galleries, all of which are part of the monthly First Friday ArtWalks in Old Colorado City, are scheduled to participate, compared with 8 at last year's inaugural "Aspens." Those involved will be identified with “colorful balloons,” the release adds.
       The listed businesses - all located along Colorado Avenue between 24th and 27th streets - are the following: Arati Artists Gallery, By Design Gems, Colorado Creative Co-op, Colorado Fine Art Works, Chavez Gallery, Cucuru Gallery Café, Febra's Boutique & Gallery, Hunter-Wolff Gallery, Laura Reilly Fine Arts Gallery, Oaks Glass Gallery, Safron of Manitou Springs, Second Floor Studios, Silver Sparrow Beads, Squash Blossom, Thunder Mountain Trading Company and 45° Gallery & Custom Framing.
