Meet a Westsider:
Terry Bresee

Profession/Occupation... owner of Bresee Builders, a general contractor that does restoration, remodeling and finish carpentry.

What I like most about the Westside is... the eclectic mix of neighborhoods and the “live and let live” attitude. No HOA to tell you what color to paint your house.

If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... As the victim of an unprovoked attack on my golden retriever and myself, I would make it a No Pit Bull zone.

A good movie I’ve seen recently is... I just watched my two all-time favorite movies back-to-back: “Fargo” and “Pulp Fiction” Does that make me a bad person?

I'd like to discover... an affordable, effective way to stabilize the foundations of these century-old houses. I treasure these old homes and would love to know that they will stand for another 100 years.

If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... I would love to have met John Lennon. To me, he was an activist who used his music, art and words to create change. He understood social media before the term was even coined. You know that he would have had plenty to say about today’s political morass. What a tragic loss.

The next time I travel, I’m going... Alaska! The final frontier! Must remember the bear spray.

My favorite childhood memory is... packing a lunch and riding my horse all alone across the Nebraska countryside.

My favorite summer pastime is... climbing a 4-wheel drive road to a spot along a stream a little below timberline. Then my wife and I set up camp for four to five days with our two golden retrievers.

Something good I’ve read is... “Life,” by Keith Richards. It was fascinating to read about the different guitar tunings, stringing and fingering from one of my favorite musicians.

My pet peeve is... Dog owners who don’t pick up after their pets.

If I won the lottery I’d... travel the world and research my ancestry in Denmark and Finland.
