FOGG seeks ‘greeters’ for RMFI projects
The Friends of Garden of the Gods (FOGG) is seeking people who would like to be “garden greeters” during upcoming workdays by the Rocky Mountain Field Institute (RMFI) in the central park area.
“RMFI has worked the Garden since 2002, and Friends of Garden of the Gods has recently become a strong financial supporter of this work,” explained FOGG President John Demmon in an e-mail. “We contributed $8,000 to their efforts on our behalf this year. Now we also have an opportunity to promote and interpret their efforts and our support to members of the community who visit the park on weekends.”
Greeters will man a table in the central area during 11 RMFI workdays “where maximum visitor exposure provides opportunities to explain the work going on to make the Garden of the Gods a better place and preserve it for the future,” he said. “No special knowledge is necessary, as we provide restoration talking points.”
Available shifts are two hours Saturdays or Sundays, 10 a.m. to noon or 1 to 3 p.m.
