Silver Key sets fund-raisers

Silver Key Senior Services has two upcoming events - the annual golf tournament Aug. 30 and the first-ever Grandparents Day bouquet sale Sept. 10.
Both are fund raisers for the Westside-based non-profit agency that serves more than 17,000 elderly in the Pikes Peak region.
The golf tournament, chiefly sponsored by Classic Homes, will also include dinner, music and a silent auction. The event will be at the Country Club of Colorado. Player fee is $150 per person.
According to Arlinda Thomas of Silver Key, 114 golfers had signed up early this week. “We are continuing to take registration information from players until our total number of golfers reaches 128,” she said.
The Grandparents Day event, underwritten by the Broadmoor Garden Club, is timed for National Grandparents Day Sept. 12. Silver Key and Garden Club volunteers will make about 250 bouquets of varying flower types, which must be ordered in advance and will be available for pickup Sept. 10.
The cost for a bouquet and gift card is $10. Sales will be first come, first served.
The slogan of the event is: “Show you love your Grandparents a bunch. For National Grandparents Day, treat your favorite Grandparent to a special bouquet.”
