Cemetery to be ‘crawling’ with history this weekend

       The seventh annual Cemetery Crawl, featuring West-side historians standing at colorful characters' headstones and taking on their personnas, will come to life this weekend (Aug. 28-29) in Fairview Cemetery.
       The event will be from 2 to 5 p.m. both days. Advance tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children. Adult tickets will be $7 at the cemetery on the day of the event.
       The cemetery is at 1000 S. 26th St. Guides will lead guests to each designated grave to learn about the person buried there from a historian who will dress and talk like that person. Some of the dozen or so historic individuals being quickened will be Anthony Bott, Laura Belle McDaniel and Louis Unser. The tours last about an hour.
       The event is a fund raiser for the Old Colorado Historical Society. For more information, call 636-1225.
