Highway 24 presentation to council Aug. 27
A presentation on the proposed Highway 24 expansion and possible adjoining greenway will occur at the informal Colorado Springs City Council meeting Monday,
Aug. 27, according to Sue Blumberg of the City Manager's Office.
The information will be presented by the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) team that has been moving the proposal through an $8.5 million Environmental Assessment (EA) process since 2004.
Jerry Heimlicher had requested the presentation at the Aug. 13 meeting. The council member, whose district includes the older Westside, said he was concerned about the large footprint CDOT is considering for the greenway and that city staffers have apparently been representing the city on the plan without direction from council.
The meeting will start at 1 p.m. at Colorado Springs City Hall, 107 N. Nevada Ave.
