Meet a Westsider:
I am the assistant director of Greenshades Schools.
What I like most about the Westside is... I love the uniqueness and diversity of the people on the Westside and the beauty of its surroundings.
If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... I love the way the Westside is, but if I had to change anything, I would add a small, dog-friendly park closer to Old Colorado City.
A good movie I’ve seen recently is... “Water for Elephants.” I really had no idea what the theme of this movie was before I went to see it, but was greatly surprised at how much I enjoyed it.
I'd like to discover... a cure for Juvenile Diabetes. I have a family member and very close friend who have it.
If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... Julie Andrews, I just love her acting and singing and enjoyed all her movies. She seems able to reach people on an emotional level.
The next time I travel, I’m going... New York for my 50-year high school reunion.
My favorite childhood memory is... going to the piers and fishing for crabs by Jones Beach on Long Island with my brothers, sisters and dad. I had my own crab box. I’d drop it in the ocean, the sides and top would open out and once enough crabs crawled in (the water was so clear, I was able to see to the bottom), I’d pull it up.
My favorite summer pastime is... I’ve recently lost a lot of weight and I love taking my dogs, Peg and Dakota for walks to Bott Park.
Something good I’ve read is... “This Time Together,” by Carol Burnett. She is such a great comedian and I really enjoyed her book. It’s about her life and how her grandmother, whom she lived with, encouraged her to pursue her dream.
My pet peeve is... people who are always late.
If I didn’t have to work for a year, I would... I’d start a small dog rescue and make sure all the dogs have homes before I had to go back to work.
Meet a Westsider” is a regular feature in the Westside Pioneer. If you would like to be a Meet-a-Westsider (or know someone who should be), please give us a call at 471-6776.
