Volunteers welcomed for rebuild of trail section in Red Rock Canyon Aug. 14

A volunteer trail-repair workday is planned in Red Rock Canyon Open Space Sunday, Aug. 14.
Scheduled from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the project will rebuild a turn on the East Fork Trail “to make it more friendly to mountain bikers,” states a press release from the Friends of Red Rock Canyon.
The meeting place will be the Manitou Springs free parking lot at 10 Old Man's Trail.
Created last year, the East Fork connects to the Intemann Trail from Sand Creek Canyon.
For the workday, the Friends will work with the Manitou CATS trail-building organization. Volunteers are welcome but are asked to sign up in advance. For more information, call 321-5354 or e-mail friends@redrockcanyonopenspace.org.
