OWN board to discuss design guidelines Aug. 13

A discussion on proposed design guidelines for the older Westside is on the agenda for the board meeting of the Organization of Westside Neighbors (OWN)
Thursday, Aug. 13 at the West Center, 1628 W. Bijou St.
The meeting will start at 7 p.m. OWN, a volunteer group, is the city-recognized advocacy group for the older Westside. OWN President Welling Clark said he did not have any detailed updates, but the issue has brought out some opposition to city staff opinions by the OWN-appointed guidelines subcommittee. The goal of the guidelines is to help people in restoring historic buildings. A longer-range target is the creation of a historic overlay zone that would use the guidelines as a technical base. Clark said possible cuts in City Code Enforcement will also be discussed at the meeting. Westside Pioneer article |
