Starsmore Day features Bean talk, Obee walk
Starsmore Day, giving tribute to the Starsmore family for its contributions to the city of Colorado Springs, will be from 3 to 5
p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8
The event will be at the Starsmore Discovery Center, 2120 South Cheyenne Cañon Road.
Activities will include a talk by center architect Morey Bean about how the Starsmore family home was transformed into a city nature center and a walk with local poet Ruth Obee (author of “A Sense of Place”). In memory of Mary Starsmore, the center will give the first 50 people a blue spruce to plant (one per family)
