What do you do?
I work at Pikes Peak National Bank as a commercial lender. What do you do there and/or what are you responsible for? I interview loan applicants and process and close commercial loans. We structure our commercial loans to fit our customers. My job is to provide excellent customer service and promote bank products. How long have you been doing this kind of work (total)? How long on the Westside? I started off at a furniture store and worked my way up to manager. I started working at a bank in Washington State as a savings supervisor. In total, I have 17 years experience and 4 here at PPNB. I started as a teller, moved to the consumer lender position and then was promoted to my current position as a commercial lender in December 2016. I’ve been on the Westside for four years. What do you like best about it (other than quitting time)? The people I work with and the customers. I like helping people fullfill their dreams of owning and running a business. If you could change one thing (other than pay), what would it be? I would love to see additional branches as our bank grows. What part of your work did your training/education never prepare you for? Having to deal with upset and irate customers. My experience has been hands on. Dealing with irate customers is a challenge that I’ve learned, and I feel that it comes naturally to me. What makes working on the Westside special? All the business owners help each other out and it’s like one big family. “What do you do?” is a regular feature in the Westside Pioneer, geared for people who have interesting jobs on the Westside but don't necessarily live here.
