Letter: Poor planning by City Parks on Community Center playground

       The playground [at the Westside Community Center] was there since 1995. Jake Butterfield and the City Parks Department should NOT have removed it until:
       - a public meeting was held;
       - playground plans were finished;
       - new playground equipment was ordered and received;
       - work was readily to begin so that it could be completed quickly (two weeks).
       To have the playgound removed and unavailable for families from April thru sometime in August is extremely poor planning.
       Taxpayers deserve better.
