Just a swipe away: New program simplifies city bus rides for CC, UCCS students

Beginning this fall semester, Colorado College and UCCS students can ride a city bus by swiping their student ID cards.
This will be made possible through a new program offered by the city bus company, Mountain Metropolitan Transit. The per-semester cost of $5 per student is funded by the colleges.
According to a transit press release, Colorado College covers its share through a student activity fee, while UCCS has funded the program as a pilot for the fall (2017) and spring (2018) semesters. UCCS students will vote in early 2018 on a ballot measure to continue the program with student fees, the release adds.
Mountain Metro provides local fixed-route bus service and Metro Mobility ADA paratransit service for Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region. For more information, go to mmtransit.com or call 385-RIDE (7433).
