Meet a Westsider:
Profession/Occupation... Homemaker but not a housekeeper. Spending time with the family.
What I like most about the Westside is... the friendliness. The shopping is now very uncommon, Simpiches (family- owned), Van Briggle and Michael Garman (nationally known). Lots of cultural treasures.
If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... better representation from the City Council.
A good movie I’ve seen recently is... “Grand Hotel” from the library, which provides good movies.
The worst advice I’ve ever gotten was... Don’t give up your teaching job to join the Red Cross – advice I did not take.
If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... Laura Bush, the President’s wife.
The next time I travel, I’m going to... Canada, to visit Lake Louise and the National Parks in Calgary and Regina in the province of Saskatchewan.
My favorite childhood memory is... when the circus came to town.
My favorite summer pastime is... planting and gardening.
Something good I’ve read is.. mostly periodicals like the U.S. News and World Report, Time Magazine, Harpers, American Heritage and the Smithsonian.
My pet peeve is... the drivers in Colorado Springs, not yielding, running stops and not indicating turns or forgetting to turn off their turn signals.
If I won the lottery, I’d... I wouldn’t sit on it; I’d give generously to family and charity.
