Pipe job impacts ‘Gods’ traffic

Work is scheduled to continue July 10 on the 54-inch wastewater interceptor pipe across Garden of the Gods Road at the Mark Dabling Boulevard intersection.
The work, which began June 26, will take place from 7 a.m. Saturday, July 10 through 5 a.m. Monday, July 12, according to Colorado Springs Utilities. During that time, traffic on Garden of the Gods Road may be restricted to one or two lanes in each direction.
The pipe will connect to the Northern Water Reclamation Facility, which has been under construction near the intersection since early June and not be completed until later this month.
The project also has the impact of limiting parking at Pikeview Reservoir southeast of Garden of the Gods Road and Mark Dabling Boulevard. Off-street parking on Mark Dabling has been reserved for reservoir users.
