What do you do?
Where do you work and what is your title?
I'm a paramedical aesthetician and make-up artist at Morning Glory Face & Body, a skin-care salon promoting organic and clinical skin health options and cosmetics.
What do you do there and/or what are you responsible for?
I perform many different treatments for the skin, such as acne care, anti-aging, clinical peels, microdermabrasion, eyelash extensions, Jane Iredale make-up consultations and waxing. I am repsonsible for educating my guests about the treatment and procedure I perform. I care that they know what is going on and what to expect.
How long have you been doing this kind of work (total)? How long on the Westside?
I have been practicing skin care for the past couple of years. It is my passion. I have been on the Westside for over a year.
What do you like best about it (other than quitting time)?
I love the people we meet everyday. I love the location. I love my job. I enjoy coming to work early and staying late. But what I like best is seeing the smile on someone's face after their treatment.
If you could change one thing (other than pay), what would it be?
That’s a hard one... I honestly have not a single complaint except I wish I had done this sooner.
What part of your work did your training/education never prepare you for?
I was not prepared for the real excitement and confidence that can be obtained by getting out there and following your heart and dreams.
What makes working on the Westside special?
Aside from the views, I have to say working with the owner of Morning Glory [Linda-Marie Crespo] has made it special. Her many years of experience is a major plus and being someone she will pass her knowledge down to is a true blessing.
“What do you do?” is a regular feature in the Westside Pioneer. If you know someone who has an interesting job on the Westside (but doesn’t live here), he/she might be a candidate for this column! If you know someone who might qualify, give us a call at 471-6776.
