Starting at 6:30 p.m., the rodeo will be in Penrose Stadium at the Norris-Penrose Events Center, 1045 W. Lower Gold Camp Road. “This event showcases the working ranch cowboy in competition format,” reads a press release from event spokesperson Nikki Wall. “Sixty cowboys from 12 ranches who traveled from five states will compete in six events in a winner-take-all showdown.” Tickets are $10-$20 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-11. Tickets are available online at norrispenrose.com or at the Norris-Penrose ticket office. The rodeo will be preceded by a chuck wagon cook-off and supper at 4:30 p.m. Tickets for the supper are $20 (ages 11 and under eat free) and can be purchased onsite or online. As in past years, Ride for the Brand will be heralded at noon the day before by a longhorn “cattle drive” on Tejon Street through the downtown. After the rodeo will be live entertainment by Syd Masters and the Swing Riders. More information is at championshipranchrodeo.com. Westside Pioneer/press release |
