Open house June 22, comments through June 24 on county commissioner redistricting

A public open house on redistricting El Paso County's commissioner districts is scheduled Thursday, June 22 at the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder's Office in the Citizens Service Center, 1675 W. Garden of the Gods Road, Suite 2201.
People can drop in anytime between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. to review and comment on the proposals, a press release states.
Mattie Albert of the clerk's office said that the county-proposed version offers three options, one of them with three precinct changes and two of them with four changes. Each of these would result in “minimal impacts” to the five current districts, she said.
There is also a version proposed by citizens that would affect more than 15 precincts county-wide, Albert noted.
The public comment period ends June 24.
       For more information, Albert's number is 520-6226, e-mail mattiealbert@elpasoco.com.
