Meet a Westsider:
Nick Gonzales

Profession/Occupation... I’m a career server at Jorge’s in Old Colorado City.

What I like most about the Westside is... the way everyone knows your name and tends to look out for one another.

If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... that there’d be more poetry readings on the Westside.

A good movie I’ve seen recently is... “Perfume; the Story of a Murderer.” It’s such a great twisted story. It is based on the 1985 novel, “Perfume,” by Patrick Süskind. Ben Whishaw is the main character. It also stars Dustin Hoffman and Alan Rickman. It also has amazing cinematography.

I'd like to discover... myself. I’ve got a pretty good idea of who I am, but I also kinda think I’m a little bipolar.

If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... Christopher Walken. He seems to have a very odd personality that I feel would help me grow as a person.

The next time I travel, I’m going... some place new. I’m always looking for a new adventure, striving to grow and become a better person.

My favorite childhood memory is... My dad and I waiting for my mom and sister to go to church so we could go have fun all around my hometown of Pueblo.

My favorite summer pastime is... dancing and whenever possible competing in poetry slams.

Something good I’ve read is... “Gödel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid,” by Douglas R. Hofstadter. An amazing, somewhat abstract view of human philosophy.

My pet peeve is... people who complain about their lives, yet never do anything to change it.

If I didn’t have to work for a year, I would... I’d do the same thing I did last time, just pack my bags and move some place new in search for adventure. Make a living from scratch just to say I did.
