More than 1,000 late-night cyclists likely for annual Starlight Spectacular June 17

The 23rd annual Starlight Spectacular cycling event will be Saturday, June 17, starting at 10:30 p.m. from the Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center, 1805 N. 30th St.
Traditionally attracting more than 1,000 participants, the non-competitive late-night ride offers loops of 14 to 22 miles on designated streets, among them West Colorado Avenue and inside the Garden of the Gods. The finish is at the Visitor Center.
The Spectacular is a fundraiser for the Trails and Open Space Coalition, a local, nonprofit advocacy group.
The cost is $47 a person (with discounts for children, seniors, families or military). This also includes pre-event activities (starting at 9 p.m.) with pizza, a live band and a costume contest and, after the ride, breakfast in the center's cafe.
Participants can also sign up the night of the ride. Bikes must be equipped with front and rear lights.
