Volunteers needed for trail-maintenance workday in Red Rock Canyon June 10 June 7, 2018A trail-maintenance workday in Red Rock Canyon Open Space is scheduled Sunday, June 10 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers are requested. The work will be led by the Manitou CATS volunteer group, in conjunction with Colorado Springs Parks. Advance registration is necessary with the Parks Department at this link. "We will be performing general trail maintenance, area clean up, tread repair, improving water drainage features and corridor clearing, a press release states. "Different crews will be working on on Quarry Pass Trail, Contemplative Trail and Intemann Trail." Red Rock Canyon consists of close to 1,500 acres owned by the City of Colorado Springs south of Highway 24 and west of the Midland neighborhood. For more information, call 321-53454.
