Meet a Westsider:
Betty C. Hill
Profession/Occupation... Iím a seamstress. I retired from Hewlett Packard. I was 2nd shift supervisor in the printed circuit department.
What I like most about the Westside is... I wouldnít live anywhere else. Itís a comfortable place to live. Banks, cleaners and stores are only a few blocks from home, so itís very convenient.
If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... I wish there were fabrics stores close by. We used to have Cloth World at Uintah Gardens.
A good movie Iíve seen recently is... ďO Brother, where Art Thou?Ē I especially liked the music, and George Clooney is such a character.
The worst advice Iíve ever gotten was... to stop working and sit in a rocking chair. I didnít listen to the advice. Iíll never stop working.
If I could meet someone famous, Iíd like to meet... all the Major League baseball players at the All Star baseball game.
The next time I travel, Iím going to... Seaside, Oregon, for a family reunion Ė at least 50 relatives will be there. Weíre renting a cottage on the beach.
My favorite childhood memory is... every weekend was spent at baseball picnics and tournaments. My dad played on a country team every summer. He loved baseball, so, the whole family would go out to the baseball field on Sunday.
My favorite spring pastime is... planting flowers and working outdoors. And going to my great-grandsonís baseball games!
Something good Iíve read is.. ďThe Curse of the Bambino,Ē by Dan Shaughnessy. Thatís the book about Babe Ruth being sold to the Yankees and the curse that followed. The Red Sox finally won last year.
My pet peeve is... not enough hours in a day.
If I won the lottery, Iíd... pay off every one of my childrenís houses.
