Fundraisers for mission, History Center

       People can donate valuables to the Springs Rescue Mission and/or throw away unwanted possessions at Harris Group Realty's fifth annual Dump & Donate Day Saturday, May 30.
       The times will be 9 a.m. to noon in the Coronado High School parking lot, 1590 W. Fillmore St.
       A dumpster will be available for any discards except tires, appliances, food, garbage, computer equipment and paint cans.

       Wranglers of all ages are invited to a “Cowboy Pancake Breakfast” Sunday, May 24 to raise money for the Old Colorado City History Center.
       Scheduled in the second day of the Territory Days street festival in Old Colorado City, the fundraising breakfast will be at Deb's Coffee House, 2 S. 25th St., from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

       “Plein” (open) air artists can sign up for a juried paint-out on the private grounds of the Glen Eyrie retreat center Saturday and Sunday, May 30-31.
       The cost of $75 includes workshops and the opportunity May 31 to set up an easel somewhere on the 800-acre property that was once home to Colorado Springs founder William Palmer. There will be awards valued at approximately $2,000, including cash awards of $700, a press release states.
