Meet a Westsider:
Retired phone man. As a civilian for the military, I worked up at NORAD for 18 years and at Peterson AFB for 3 years. I repaired their teletype and data. I also put the circuit together for the old emergency broadcasting system. Now I buy storage lockers to stock an Old Colorado City thrift store I own named Rock Reliable.
What I like most about the Westside is... that we live and work at the base of Pikes Peak and can look up and wonder...
If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... the traffic. There is just too much.
A good movie Iíve seen recently is... the TV series, ďLuck,Ē with Dustin Hoffman, which was recently cancelled because of bad luck.
I'd like to discover... a time machine. I always thought it would be great to travel back or forward in time.
If I could meet someone famous, Iíd like to meet... former basketball star Michael Jordan. I always thought he was a class act. I watched a lot more basketball when he was playing.
The next time I travel, Iím going... Las Vegas. I like playing craps (dice) and blackjack. Or maybe Chicago, my home town.
My favorite childhood memory is... my dad whistling out the window when it was time to come home.
My favorite spring pastime is... just being outside. Summer is too hot, winter too cool; spring is just right.
Something good Iíve read is... ďNo Limit: The Incredible Obsession of Brian Molony,Ē by Gary Ross. Itís about one manís obsession with gambling.
My pet peeve is... bicycle riders that wear dark clothing with no reflectors on the bike and ride in early morning or late night. You just cannot see them till you are right on top of them.
If I didnít have to work for a year, I would... I donít have to work. I choose to do so. I canít imagine not.
