Proposal for second nursing-home tower on Gold Camp Road

Construction of a five-story nursing home tower is proposed at 2323 Patriot Heights, near the existing Village at Skyline senior living facility off Lower Gold Camp Road west of 21st Street.
The edifice would match the existing five-story structure at the east end of Village at Skyline, according to city planner Ryan Tefertiller.
In connection with the proposal, Planning has received a pre-application by Paul Reu with James Nakai and Assoc. which seeks consideration of two requests: a rezone to increase the site's maximum density and a development plan for the 52-unit building, which the pre-application describes as a “skilled nursing senior facility.”
A second five-story tower had been part of the original Village at Skyline plan. The previous ownership had decided to downsize it to three stories, but the property changed hands in 2005, and this group has reintroduced the matching-tower concept, Tefertiller said. He added that he has sent out postcards to the surrounding area, including the Skyway area to the south, because the second tower, rising from Lower Gold Camp's hill between 21st and 26th streets, would be “fairly prominent.”
The current property owner is listed by the Assessor's Office as Fit NBA Skyline LLC c/o Fortress Invesment Grp LLC.
