Big Band fundraises for girl with brain tumor

       A dinner-and-dance fundraiser will be held for for Colorado Springs resident Amber Lace Avalos-Yamada, 14, who was recently diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor.
       The event will be from 3 to 7 p.m. It will include dance music by New Century Big Band (vocals by Randy Rodriguez), dinner provided by Golden Corral and a silent auction.
       With both music and food donated, all proceeds from the show will go to the Amber Avalos fund, according to New Century leader Bill Emery.
