Seasonal offerings starting up at Garden of the Gods
Free warmer-season activities will resume at the Garden of the Gods this month.
The prairie falcon walks begin Wednesday, May 13. To join the guided hike, which will lead people to one or more falcon nests in the Garden, meet at the North Main Parking Lot trail head at 4 p.m. These hikes will continue weekly until the nest empties.
The American Birding Association is sponsoring the first of a series of monthly bird walks beginning Saturday, May 23. Participants will meet in the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center parking lot at 8 a.m. Water and a snack are recommended. Binoculars are suggested (loaners are available).
The Magpie Players will begin their summer shows Thursday, May 28 at 4:45 p.m. in the Red Rocks Room at the Visitor Center. Costumed volunteers and staff from the center will enact the lives of colorful characters associated with the Pikes Peak Region. The shows will continue each Thursday evening through Labor Day.
Also continuing are the daily guided walks at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and nature presentations.
