Year-ending events listed for Westside schools

       With the school year ending in about three weeks, Westside schools are planning different year's-end performances and activities. A few have already occurred. The following is a list of those to come, with information provided by the schools:
       Bristol Elementary, 890 N. Walnut St. - May 8, 1:30 and 7:15 p.m., band and orchestra; May 18, 12:30 p.m., Kids on Bikes presentations.
       Buena Vista Elementary, 924 W. Pikes Peak Ave. - May 15, 10 a.m., annual egg drop at old BV.
       Howbert Elementary, 1023 N. 31st St. - May 14, 6:30 p.m., orchestra; 7:15 p.m., band.
       Jackson Elementary, 4340 Edwinstowe Ave - May 9, 1:30 and 6:30 p.m., band, orchestra and third grade recorders. May 10, 5-7 p.m., carnival.
       Midland Elementary, 2110 W. Broadway St. - May 17, 12:30-2 p.m., fifth-grade exhibition.
       West Elementary, 25 N. 20th St. - May 10, 6:30 p.m., orchestra; 7:15 p.m., band.
       Holmes Middle School, 2455 Mesa Rd. - May 14, 7 p.m. choir. May 15, 7 p.m., sixth-grade band and seventh-grade jazz band. May 16, 7 p.m., seventh-grade drama (“Fiddler on the Roof”). May 17, 6:30 p.m., orchestra. May 21, 7 p.m., grades 7-8 symphonic band and eighth-grade jazz band. May 23, 6 p.m., Dinner Theater (“Dinner at 8 Dead by 9”), with tickets on sale in the school's front office.
       West Middle School, 1920 W. Pikes Peak Ave. - May 9, 6:30 p.m., orchestra. May 17, 6 p.m., band. May 22, 7 p.m., choir.
       Little School on Vermijo, 2332 W. Vermijo St. (grades 6-8 private) - May 12, 6-8 p.m., “A Midsummer Night's Dream” play performed at Heart of Art Space, 2502 W. Colorado Ave. Cost $2 adults, $1 kids.
       Academy ACL (grades K-8 charter), 2510 N. Chestnut St. - May 18, 5-8 p.m., Renaissance Festival and “Hamlet” performance.
       Coronado High School, 1590 W. Fillmore St. - May 10, 5:30 p.m., wind ensemble; 6:15 p.m., symphonic band; 7 p.m., jazz bands.
       Bijou School (alternative high school) , 2904 W. Kiowa St. - May 18, 11 a.m., End of the Year Luau.
