Meet a Westsider:
John Simpson

Profession/Occupation... sales/service associate U.S. Postal Service, Westend Station.

What I like most about the Westside is... it still retains a small community atmosphere.

If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... control growth smartly and slowly.

A good movie I’ve seen recently is... “Das Boot” (The Boat), a WWII German submarine classic.

The worst advice I’ve ever gotten was... sell the boat! You won’t need it in Colorado!

If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... Dr. Robert Ballard, the oceanographer – his historical undersea discoveries are phenomenal.

The next time I travel, I’m going to... Florida in June to visit Key West, my college and relatives.

My favorite childhood memory is... attending my first Major League baseball game at Yankee Stadium with my father.

My favorite winter pastime is... cuddling with my wife, reading and fantasizing about the tropics.

Something good I’ve read is.. “The Guiness Book of Decisive Battles,” by Geoffrey Regan.

My pet peeve is... people not taking responsibility or owning up to their actions.

If I won the lottery, I’d... buy another boat, pack up the wife and dog, and head for the tropics.

Meet a Westsider” is a regular feature in the Westside Pioneer. If you would like to be a Meet-a-Westsider (or know someone who should be), please give us a call at 471-6776.
