Biz buzz:
Easy Park cards available in Old Town

Easy Park cards are now available in Old Colorado City.
Judy Kasten, chair of the Old Colorado City Security & Maintenance District, bought 20 of them from City Parking and is selling them (at no mark- up) from her accounting office at 2501 W. Colorado Ave., Suite 206.
She said she decided to offer the cards, which cost $10 each, so they'd be more convenient to Westsiders, who otherwise would have to get them downtown or buy them online (and pay a shipping fee).
The city created the cards for its electronic parking meter reconfiguration that allows swiping in addition to coins. An automated card-reloading kiosk has been installed at the avenue and Colbrunn Court.

The El Dorado Fine Art Gallery will host the opening reception for its 27th annual Miniatures Art Show Sunday, April 27 from 1 to 5 p.m.
The show, which will run through May 18, features juried artworks that present objects at least one-sixth their actual size.
El Dorado is at 2627 W. Colorado Ave. For more information, call 634-4075 or go to eldorado gallery.net.

Canon National Bank, 3204 W. Colorado Ave., is getting a facelift.
Branch manager Chris Foxen said the construction will include shoring up the foundation, moving the entrance from the rear to the east (32nd Street) side of the building and giving the entire façade a red rock color that's “a little more modern.”
The actual size of the building will increase as a result, but only slightly, she said.
Moving the entrance will improve visibility and “make it more secure for us,” she added.
Basic services will continue, including the drive-through and ATM.
Project completion is anticipated this summer.
