Openings at another community garden
The 17th St. Community Garden, a “sister garden” of the Old Colorado City Community Garden, is leasing plots to interested gardeners for the 2009 growing season,
according to Elise Miller, who helped organize the latter effort.
The garden is on private property behind a residence at 1702 W. Platte Ave.
Miller is assistant director of Pikes Peak Urban Gardens, which spearheaded development of the Old Colorado City Community Garden - new this year and already fully leased on a private, vacant lot at 2825 W. Pikes Peak Ave. The non-profit group is serving in a support role with the 17th Street Garden, she said.
