Conservation Center open for Earth Day

       The Colorado Springs Utilities Conservation and Environmental Center, 2855 Mesa Road, will be open Saturday, April 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in honor of Earth Day.
       “This educational event provides opportunities for the whole family - a chance to go home with water- and energy-saving devices for adults and a conservation game and coloring contest for children,” states the Utilities website (csu.org).
       Included for Earth Day will be a “basics” introduction and free tour of the center's Xeriscape Garden April 21 between 9 and 11:30 a.m..
       Detailed xeriscaping information will be provided in a three-part, $75 design seminar April 23, 30 and May 7, offered from 6 to 9 p.m. each night. Pre-registration is necessary for the seminar.
