Waxing educational at Midland
Midland Elementary's second grade will present “Career Wax Museum Day” Wednesday, April 21 at the school, 2110 W. Broadway St.
The noon to 12:30 p.m. event, open to the public, will feature students sitting as wax figures until they are touched on the shoulder, when they will discuss posters they've made showing possible future careers that they've researched.
According to a District 11 press release, the event is part of the Midland students' International Baccalaureate planner called May I Help You! In this planner, the children learn wants versus needs, services versus goods, and who consumers and producers are.
The Coronado High School auditorium project, which was completed in September 2008, was recently honored for “outstanding achievement for renovation” by the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Council of Educational Facility Planners.
