County, volunteers to 'tackle the trash' April 26

El Paso County is hosting Tackle the Trash, a County-wide “spring- cleaning” event Saturday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to noon, and is encouraging civic organizations, churches, scout groups, schools and individuals to participate.
Volunteers will pick up trash in six specific areas around county parks, trails, public areas, creeks and roadways, a press release states.
On the Westside, the location will be Bear Creek Regional Park, off South 21st Street. The specific check-in site will be the County Parks building at 2002 Creek Crossing.
Doing a related cleanup on the Westside during the same time frame will be the county's Bear Creek Nature Center, 245 Bear Creek Road.
The county will provide trash bags and safety vests. Volunteers are encouraged to bring gloves and bottled water.
For more information, call 520-7871 or 520-7879 (the nature center).
