Geology talk touches on dinosaurs, gold

       Steven Veatch, an instructor at the Colorado School of Mines, will speak on “The Geology of the Pikes Peak Region” Friday, April 13 at the Old Colorado City History Center, 1 S. 24th St.
       Doors will open at 10:30 a.m., with the talk at 11. Seating is limited.
       Admission cost is $2 for non-members of the Old Colorado City Historical Society (OCCHS), the all-volunteer nonprofit that owns and operates the center.
       Topics will include the dinosaurs that lived in the region, why so much gold was in Cripple Creek and “where gemstones can be found in Pikes Peak back country,” according to the OCCHS newsletter, West Word.
