Biz buzz:
City, county prescription discounts

Colorado Springs residents have a chance to save an average of 20 percent on their prescription drugs, according to a press release from the city of Colorado Springs.
Through a partnership with the National League of Cities (NLC), the city is offering the cards with no restrictions based on age, income level, or existing health coverage. The cards are free, with no enrollment form required. City residents and their family members “can use the card any time their prescriptions are not covered by insurance,” the release states.
Cards are available on the Westside at the West Intergenerational Center, 25 N. 20th St.; and the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments, 15 S. Seventh St.
Participating pharmacies include those at major groceries and drug stores on the Westside.
The discount card program is administered by CVS Caremark.
A similar program is offered by El Paso County government for county residents under a program through the National Association of Counties.
For more information on the city program, call 1-888-620-1749 or visit www.caremark.com/nlc; on the county program, call 520-6540.
