What do you do?
Sandy Hofmann

Where do you work and what is your title?
       I work at Cy’s Drive-In Restaurant. I am a co-manager.
What do you do there and/or what are you responsible for?
My priority is to take care of my customers, make sure they leave satisfied. I’m also responsible for placing orders with our distributors. I shop for restaurant supplies, and I hire and lay off employees.
How long have you been doing this kind of work (total)? How long on the Westside?
I’ve been in customer service, maybe 10 years. I have been on the Westside since 1975... moved off and on. But I always come back to the “Westside.”
What do you like best about it (other than quitting time)?
My co-workers. We have such a great crew here. We all seem to get along great!
If you could change one thing (other than pay), what would it be?
PINK! Wearing pink t-shirts everyday. Different colors would be nice.
What part of your work did your training/education never prepare you for?
My feet. I’m always on my feet. They really tend to ache at the end of the day.
What makes working on the Westside special?
The Westside has a variety of people. They are “real,” honest and good-hearted neighbors. We have a lot of regular customers who come back and visit. I’ve made a lot of friends here.

“What do you do?” is a regular feature in the Westside Pioneer. If you know someone who has an interesting job on the Westside (but doesn’t live here), he/she might be a candidate for this column! If you know someone who might qualify, give us a call at 471-6776.
