Token talk at OCC History Center April 11

“Colorado Merchant Tokens - A Unique View of History” is the title of a program at the Old Colorado City History Center Friday, April 11.
Sponsored by the nonprofit Old Colorado City Historical Society (OCCHS), the talk will begin at 11 a.m. at the center, 1 S. 24th St.
There is no charge, but donations are accepted.
The presentor will be Bob DeWitt, owner of DeWitt Enterprises, a local book seller specializing in books on Colorado history.
According to an OCCHS press release, DeWitt “will share his fascination with these coin-like discs, commonly called merchant or 'trade' tokens, used in earlier as well as more recent times. These collectible items can give historians a perspective to local history and national events unlike newspapers and books. His program will be illustrated with photos and samples.”
