Bear Creek Park, Dog Park among locations for 'Great American Cleanup' April 21

       El Paso County's Bear Creek Regional Park and its adjacent Dog Park are Westside locations in the Great American Cleanup, scheduled Saturday, April 21.
       The starting time is 9 a.m.
       Volunteers are welcome to the event, sponsored by Keep America Beautiful, local governments and other sponsors. There will be more than 20 area locations in all, including public parks, trails, creeks and roadways.
       For Bear Creek Park, people are asked to meet outside the County Parks office at 2 Creek Crossing St. The Dog Park is on the west side of 21st Street at Rio Grande Street.
       According to a press release, last year's event attracted more than 900 volunteers, who filled about 1,500 bags with trash.
