Art preservation talk April 9

Colorado Springs art conservator Victoria Ryan will discuss what it takes to preserve old art pieces in a program Friday, April 9, at 11 a.m. at the Old Colorado City History Center, 1 S. 24th St.
She recently completed restorative work on the painting of first American President George Washington by local artist Charles Craig that he'd donated to the former Washington School when it opened in 1895.
Ryan, who has operated the downtown Art Care Services for 20 years, has also served on the faculties of Queen's University in Ontario, Canada, and the University of Denver.
       The program is free.
